Directed’s field training classes have long been a cornerstone of our comprehensive Technical Support offering. Our
field training staff instructs over 5,000 students each year, consisting of our dealers, sales representatives, shop
managers and owners. The programs are designed to update dealers with new product developments, requirements, and
installation techniques in their respective categories. The Snake Pit was designed to go beyond field training and
provide hands-on education to new installers, polish existing skills of veteran professionals, and provide dealers
with the competitive advantage they need to succeed in the mobile electronics industry.

The Snake Pit is the newest and most complete mobile electronics training facility, located
on the Directed Electronics headquarters campus in North San Diego, California.

It’s true that the hands-on Install Bay has doubled in size from 6 to 16 vehicles, and the woodshop has also grown by 100
percent, with additional router work-stations and woodworking tools. But more importantly, The Snake Pit
is expanding its curriculum and the types of students it serves. The Snake Pit continues to attract students
fresh from secondary school and the military with no previous experience in mobile electronics, as well as
seasoned professional technicians looking for advanced training to make themselves more valuable to their
employers.
