Michael S. Simmons

President

Michael S. Simmons serves as President of Directed. He joined the company in 2008 and served in previous roles overseeing Marketing and Product Planning as well as EVP of our parent company, DEI Holdings, Inc. Mr. Simmons has led a variety of businesses and brings extensive experience in the automotive and consumer electronics industries to Directed Electronics. His previous roles include General Manager at performance car maker Saleen Inc, CFO of Sonance (a custom audio manufacturer), CEO of TechSpace (a technology infrastructure provider), and various management positions at Ford Motor Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a CPA, and he holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.

Julien Joly

Chief Operating Officer

Julien Joly serves at COO of Directed. Mr. Joly served our Canadian team in previous roles as President of Directed Electronics Canada, Vice President & General Manager (June 2009 – February 2010) and Vice President Operations (September 2008 – June 2009). Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Joly worked as an integration consultant with merging companies Vigil Locating System Inc and Datacom Wireless Corp from August 2007 – August 2008. Mr. Joly co-founded Vigil Locating Systems Inc., where he served as President & CEO (2005 – 2007), Vice President Technology & Operations (2003 – 2005), and Director of Engineering & Operations (1999 – 2003). As an engineer, Mr. Joly worked with a contract manufacturing company specializing in GPS and communication technologies and with Bombardier Aerospace. Julien holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from l’École Polytechnique de Montreal and an MBA from Sherbrooke University.

Glenn R. Busse

SVP - Global Sales

Glenn R. Busse has served as our Senior Vice President — Sales since January 2007. Mr. Busse has served our company in various capacities since joining our company in 1986 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Busse served as the National Sales Manager of Black Bart Systems, a vehicle security company. Mr. Busse received his baccalaureate certification from Lycee Paul Langevin in Surenes, France and is fluent in French.
