Now Shipping: XPRESSKIT® KIBMW From Directed Electronics
-- Interface Kit for Automatic Transmission, Push-To-Start BMW Models Permits Installation of Remote Start
VISTA, Calif., Feb 25, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Directed Electronics, a business unit of DEI Holdings, Inc. (Symbol: DEIX) is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the KIBMW Immobilizer Interface, which permits the addition of remote start to BMW push-to-start models with automatic transmission.

The KIBMW electronic key interface is specifically designed for 2006 through 2008 model year 3-series and 5-series BMWs. Until now, it was extremely difficult to install vehicle security and remote start in these BMWs due to the original equipment manufacturer's use of ribbon cables at the ignition switch. The new KIBMW interface from Directed greatly eases the install of remote start in these vehicles and opens an entirely new market for our customers.

The KIBMW (MSRP $349) installs in series with the factory harness without modifying the BMW's wiring. This interface provides brake interface and allows smooth key takeover.

An XPRESSKIT® DLPK CANBUS Multi Door Lock and Transponder Interface (sold separately) controls locks and convenience features and provides tachometer output. When combined with the KIBMW, these two XPRESSKIT® interfaces provide a complete OEM integration solution, allowing a state-of-the-art Viper®, Python®, Clifford® or any of our other security and remote start systems (sold separately) to seamlessly integrate with the vehicle.
